Josie Ploetz

Josie Ploetz, age 80 of Belle Plaine, passed away June 23, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to Mass at church on Friday morning. Memorial are preferred to Belle Plaine Dollars for Scholars in lieu of flowers.

Josephine was born in outside New Prague in Rice County on March 19, 1942, to Joseph L. and Julia (Machacek) Tupy. She graduated from New Prague High School and The University of Minnesota. On June 7, 1969, she married John Ploetz in Veseli. Josie taught in the Belle Plaine and New Prague schools for many years. Josie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruth Barta and brother, Richard Tupy.

She is survived by her husband John, sons, Jon (Amy) of Philadelphia, PA, & Joe (Heidi) of Belle Plaine, sisters, Judy Courrier of Shakopee and Mary Ann Campbell of Palm Coast, FL. Sister-in-law, Beverly (Roger) Delgehausen of Wayzata, nieces & nephews.
