Ken L. Hicks

Kenneth L. Hicks, age 66 of Stewart, died December 6, 2011 at Glencoe Regional Health Services. A Celebration of Life-Open House will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Community Hall in Stewart. Ken was born on August 20, 1945 to Hallie and Delores (Roalson) Hicks in Mankato. He grew up in Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School. He then attended Mankato State University. He was a Drug & Alcohol Abuse Counselor for many years in Jordan and New Ulm. He also traveled around the area and spoke at A.A. meetings. He enjoyed life, spending time with family and cooking. He will be dearly missed. Ken is survived by his fiancée, Marlene Holtz of Stewart; Children, Desiree (Tony) Ferrazzo of New Prague, DeLynn (Keith) Barta of New Prague, Shari (Dan) Schwartz of Le Sueur, Angie Schulte of Hector, and Wes (Tracy) Holtz of Stewart; Grandchildren, Amanda and Erica Ferrazzo, Cassandra (Matthew) Ullom, Alexa Barta, Tonya (Adam) Borth, Travis Schwartz, Ashlee, Brandon and Jessica Holtz, and Arianna and Seth Holtz; Great-Grandchildren, Hailee Ullom, Madison Holtz, Nolan Leonard and Spencer Borth; Siblings, Jim (Linda) Hicks of Mapleton, Margaret (Steve) Current of Mapleton and Tom (Maggie) Hicks of Mapleton; and 7 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Greg Hicks.
