Kenneth S. Smith Jr.

Kenneth S. Smith Jr., age 79 of Le Sueur, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Central Health Care Nursing Home in Le Center. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 26 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Rev. Beth Benson and Rev. Barb Jackman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur with Military Rites by the Le Sueur Honor Guard. Kenneth was born on April 11, 1931 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Jurgens) Smith in Le Sueur. He graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1950. He was in the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He worked at Lampert and Monahan Lumber in Le Sueur. He also worked at Swenson Construction and Reibe Construction before working on his own. He married Pearl Biddle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Pearl; son, Micky Smith of Le Sueur; siblings, Jack Smith of Le Sueur, Dorothy Barron of Le Sueur, Judith (Andy) Puttin of Le Sueur, Susan (Dan) Otting of Le Sueur and Tom (Cindy) Smith of Le Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant twins; siblings, Jim and Peter Smith.
