Kenneth Otto Wiemann, age 80, of Arlington, Minnesota died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. He was born on August 14, 1930 in Dryden Township, Sibley County to Otto and Florence (Briest) Wiemann. Kenneth was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He attended country school in Dryden Township and graduated from Arlington High School in 1948. He entered the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Kenneth married Annette Luff on February 9, 1957 at the Arlington Methodist Church. He farmed in Dryden Township until 1977 and then worked as a mechanic for many years at Big Stone Canning Company in Arlington. He was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church and had served as a trustee and head usher. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served on the Veterans Honor Guard. Kenneth was currently on the Arlington Public Cemetery Board. He enjoyed hunting ducks, deer and pheasants and was a charter member of Ducks Unlimited. He is survived by his wife, Annette, Children, Lea Ann (Steven) Post of Arlington, Cynthia (Joseph Berryman) Wiemann of Buckhead, GA, Paul (sp. friend, Beverly Breyer) Wiemann of Arlington and Crystal (Benjamin) Jacobs of Saudi Arabia. 4 Grandchildren, Nina and Sara Post and Kai and Nora Jacobs. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Karl in 1942. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Arlington United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Swanson will officiate. Interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
