Kevin John Kamps

Kevin John Kamps, age 69 of Henderson, died on Tuesday evening, January 28, 2025 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN.  Visitation will be at the church that morning two hours prior to the service, (9:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.).  Lunch immediately after the service at church.  Burial to follow lunch at New Rome Cemetery in rural Arlington, MN.

Kevin was born on December 28, 1955 to Albert and Ellen (Manteuffel) Kamps in Glencoe, MN.  He grew up in the Hamburg area, (Four Corners).  He attended Norwood schools and graduated from Norwood Central High School in 1974.  He married Peggy Seemann at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson, MN on May 22, 1976.  He worked his entire adult years for Oak Grove and Kemps Dairy in Norwood for 37 years, driving over 4 million miles without one accident.  He enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, carting horses, and watching birds throughout the year. Come fall, you would find Kevin attending county fairs, Pioneer Power, and car shows.  Most of all, Kevin could not pass up a good auction. He enjoyed his time in his Corvette and Ranger.  Though Kevin was devoted to his job with Kemps and enjoyed his work, he thought his family was pretty ok too.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy and sons, Mike (Trina) of Sacred Heart, MN; Rob (Melanie) of Mound, MN; Russell (Kelly) of Arlington, MN and Kevin A of Henderson, MN.   9 grandchildren, Racheal (Wyatt), Ethan, Belle, Olivia, Makenzie, Alyson, Adilyn, Noah, and Nehemiah. 4 bonus grandchildren, Chloe, Carson, Cassidi, and Kenadie. 1 great-grandson, Wesley.  Brothers, Richard (Mariann) of Norwood, MN and Roger (Karen) of Young-America, MN.  Special friends Carl and Cindy Belz. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruce.
