Kevin "Sky" Nyblom

Kevin G. “Sky” Nyblom, age 72, passed away on December 7, 2024. Memorial Service will be on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Reception and lunch will follow service at the Vet’s Club.

Sky was born on December 21, 1951, to Lloyd and Mabel (Nuessmeier) Nyblom in New Prague, Minnesota. He grew up in Belle Plaine and was a 1969 graduate of Belle Plaine High School. After high school, he worked for the Chicago NW Railroad for 7 years and 12 years at Fairmont Hydraulics Company.  Sky also operated Motels in Sheldon and Sac City, Iowa and retired in Belle Plaine in 2015. He was an avid deer, pheasant and duck hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and all the family gatherings.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lloyd Jr. and Vern (Virginia), sisters, Shirley Nyblom, Betty Mathwig, Marilyn Hager and Denise Gruetzman, brother-in-law, Joseph Hager.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Ellie) Nyblom of Belle Plaine, MN and his in-laws, Joyce Nyblom of Belle Plaine, Chester Mathwig of Victoria, MN and Lee Gruetzman of Andover, MN.
