Laverne Nyblom

Laverne R. Nyblom, age 82 of Belle Plaine, passed away on November 10, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Vern was born in Tyrone Twp., Le Sueur County on January 14, 1933 to Lloyd and Mabel (Nuessmeier) Nyblom. On October 23, 2004 he married Virginia Shand at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Served in the Army with the Military Police from 1951-1952. Vern worked at Keup Motors in Belle Plaine for over 30 years. He was the custodian at St. John Lutheran Church for 35 years. He was a long time member of the Belle Plaine Fire Department, American Legion, Belle Plaine Baseball Association and St. John Lutheran Church. He always looked forward to the brother, sister reunion every year. Vern loved the Vikings and was a charter ticket member of the Met Stadium in 1961. He always took care of his family, especially after his father's death. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lloyd Jr., sisters, Shirley Nyblom, Betty Mathwig, brother in law Joseph Hager and wife, Virginia. Vern is survived by his brothers, Robert (Ellie) Nyblom of Belle Plaine, Gary "Sky" Nyblom of Belle Plaine, Sisters, Marilyn Hager of Richfield, Denise (Lee) Gruetzman of Andover Sister in law, Joyce Nyblom of Belle Plaine. Brother in law, Chester Mathwig of Victoria Many Nieces and Nephews.
