Lawrence “Larry” Otto Duenow, age 95, of Glencoe, formerly of Arlington, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at Grand Meadows in Glencoe. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, with Pastor Craig McCourt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Arlington Public Cemetery, with a luncheon served afterward at the church social hall.

Larry was born on June 3, 1930, in Brownton, Minnesota, to Alfred and Ida (Kohls) Duenow. He grew up in Brownton, New Auburn, and Arlington, where he attended Arlington High School. After graduation, Larry enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Before his deployment to Korea, Larry married Vivian Meyers on April 29, 1951, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. After returning home from the Army, the couple settled in Arlington, where Larry worked in construction. Larry and Vivian later farmed for several years in Washington Lake Township before returning to Arlington to raise their family. Over the years, Larry worked for Pinske, Cemstone, and Big Stone, earning a reputation for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Larry had a lifelong love of woodworking and in his later years, he especially enjoyed tending to his garden and crafting things by hand. Above all, Larry treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His gentle spirit and quiet humor brought warmth to every gathering.

Larry will be best remembered for his gentle strength, devotion to family, and the care he poured into everything he built—whether it was his home, his garden, or the people he loved.

Larry is survived by his son, Kevin Duenow of Spring City, TN; grandchildren James (Rachel) Duenow, Anne (Brad) Smith, Shane (Katelyn) Duenow, and Adam Duenow; and great-grandchildren Avarie Duenow, Jacie Duenow, Brynlie Duenow, Morgan Smith, Jorie Duenow, Sawyer Smith, Elsie Duenow, and Weslie Duenow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Vivian Duenow; son, Duane Duenow; and siblings Marvin (Marie) Duenow, Florence Duenow, Jeanette (Marlyn) Barfknecht, Bernice (Kenny) Tuchtenhagen, and Lloyd (Grace) Duenow.
