Leo Bigaouette, age 90 of Belle Plaine passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Memorial Service will be AT 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15 at St. John's-Assumption Catholic Church in Faxon Township. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 at the church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Leo was born in St. Paul on July 31, 1924 to George and Ann (Wagner) Bigaouette. He grew up in Faxon Township where he farmed all his life. He served in the Philippines during WWII. On September 11, 1948 he married Marilyn Krueger at the Assumption Catholic Church. Leo was a member of the Belle Plaine VFW. He loved to dance and play cards. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Bigaouette and a brother, Larry Bigaouette. Leo is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Belle Plaine, Children, Sheryl (Glenn) Sellnow of Belle Plaine, Michael (Mary Ann) Bigaouette of Belle Plaine, Mary (Steve) Lehman of Belle Plaine, Bonnie (Gary) Krant of Belle Plaine, 11 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Mary Ann (Charles) Lambrecht of California, Sisters in law, Carol Bigaouette and Carol Smith of Belle Plaine.
