Leroy C. Bird

LeRoy C. Bird, age 60 of Le Sueur, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Rev. Beth Benson will officiate. Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington Township. LeRoy was born on August 27, 1951 to Edward and Anna (Fries) Bird in Jessenland Twp., Sibley Co., MN. He grew up in the Henderson area and attended schools in Henderson. He worked various jobs and his passion was logging and cutting wood. He retired early due to his disability. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. LeRoy is survived by his former wife and best friend, Doloris Schultz of LeSueur; siblings, Willard (Elverda) Bird of Henderson, Kenny (Connie) Bird of Henderson, Paul (Sharon) Bird of Arlington, Sharon Otto of LeSueur and Rosemary (Orville) Schauer of Green Isle; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Otto; and infant brother.
