 
            LeRoy Dale Winter, age 67, of Arlington, died Wednesday, May 24, 2012, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, Pastor Bruce Hanneman presiding. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington. LeRoy was born on May 22, 1945, in Glencoe, MN, to Louis and Flora (Laabs) Winter. He was baptized on June 10, 1945 by Rev. Berthold Streufert, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle. His confirmation took place on June 7, 1959, also at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. H.J. Malotky presiding. He graduated from Arlington Green Isle High School in 1963. In 1966 LeRoy joined the U.S. Army, serving as a repairman during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968. On August 7, 1971 he was united in marriage to Lois Laabs at St. John's Lutheran Church Mountville in Gaylord, MN. by Rev. James G. Bollhagen. For 20 years He worked at Farmhand in Green Isle, and then moved on to Schwartz Manufacturing in Lester Prairie for five years, and most recently was employed at Plato Woodwork for 20 years. LeRoy had a passion for antique cars and tractors, and was a proud veteran. LeRoy is survived by his wife, Lois, sons, David and Michael Winter all of Arlington, sister Shirley (Bill) Schauer of Green Isle, nephews, Rodney Schauer, Bradley (Chris) Schauer, mother-in-law, Allina Laabs of Arlington, sister-in-law, Darlene Schuette of Gaylord, brother-in-law, Wayne Laabs of Winthrop, many other relatives and friends. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Edwin Laabs, and brother-in-law Darrell Schuette.
