Lillian Rose Tiegs, age 95, formerly of rural Henderson, Minnesota died on January 1, 2017 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. She was born on May 9, 1921 at Madison Lake, Minnesota to Thomas and Elizabeth (Boldt) Chambers. She married Milton H. Tiegs on February 12, 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They lived on a farm in Tyrone Township, LeSueur County near Henderson, Minnesota. She helped on the farm and with the operation of their saw mill. She later worked for Midland Glass in Shakopee, retiring at age 62. She purchased a loom and made Rag Rugs and was known as "The Rag Rug Weaver". For many years she was the correspondent for the "Settlement News" for the Belle Plaine, Henderson and LeSueur newspapers. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene (Andresen) Miller of Faribault and Marcia Tiegs of Shakopee, Minnesota and sister, Ruby (Cecil) Ernsting of LeSueur, 7 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She loved traveling with Milton to threshing and steam engine shows, selling her rugs and dish towels, visiting with anyone, baking and games of chance. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
