Lois Kechely

Lois Ann Kechely, age 71 of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021 with both of her sons by her side.  Visitation will be from 2-4p.m. on Thursday, May 20 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.  Visitation will conclude with a prayer service and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

Lois was born August 12, 1949 in Faxon Township to Gordon and Dolores Thomason.  She grew up in Blakeley with her 9 siblings and attended Belle Plaine Schools.  Lois had a contagious laugh and a big, beautiful smile that lit up the room.  She loved to brag about her 2 wonderful sons and 5 grandsons.  You could feel her love for them when she spoke.  Her favorite thing was spoiling her grandsons, filling them with ice cream and sending them home with a sugar high.  Lois also enjoyed playing 3 card rap, singing and dancing with family and friends to old country music on the jukebox.  In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and often found herself in Las Vegas.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Gary (Jodi) Kechely & Ryan (Cody) Herrmann.  Grandsons, Luke, Dylan, Ben, Hayden and Cole.  Siblings; Linda (Rob) Ernst-Ziehwein, Lloyd Thomason, Lynn (Kathy) Thomason, Lori (Dale) Krekelberg, Lisa (Steve) Pobuda, Lila Thomason, Larry (Lisa) Thomason and Lana Thomason.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, brother Leon Thomason and beloved canine companion PeeDee.
