Lois E. Kube

Lois E. Kube, age 79 of Arlington died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur, of heart and kidney failure. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time Wednesday at the church. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Lois was born on the family homestead in Green Isle Township on June 12, 1931, to Bernard and Elsa (Laabs) Kurtzweg. She became ill, and on June 29th, Rev. Heidmann performed an emergency baptism. She attended District #66 Parochial School, and was confirmed by Rev. Bradtke on March 25, 1945. Lois was united in marriage to Melvin L. Kube on September 8, 1951, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota, with Rev. Bradtke performing the ceremony. The couple made their home on the Kube homestead in Arlington Township, where Lois helped wherever she was needed. Melvin was called home on June 17, 2005. Lois was able to remain on the farm with the help of family and neighbors until 2010, when she moved into an apartment in Arlington. Lois is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Lawrence) Crawford of Arlington, Wanda (Hal) Jaster of St. Peter, sons James (Bonnie) Kube of Arlington, Gary (Linda) of Norwood Young America, David (Kari) of Norwood Young America, Timothy (Juanita) of Arlington, and Gregory (Penny) of Norwood Young America. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heidi (Charles) Schultz, Melissa (Darryl) Quirum, Nathan (Jessica) Kube, Joseph (Cassie) Kube, Tiffany (Randy) Andreson, Kimberly (Dennis) Braun, Heather Kube, Laura Kube, and Nicole Kube. Jesse (Tiffany) Kube, Adam (Crystal) Kube, September Kube, Miranda Kube and special friend Corey Uecker, Paul Kube, Thomas Kube and Elyse Kube. Lois is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ethan Schultz, Kylie, Kendahl and Kelsey Andresen, Keira and Aiden Asmus, Austin, Alexis and Jordyn Kube, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Delroy Kurtzweg. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Kube, her grandson William Allen Kube, and her parents. Lois will be laid to rest in Arlington Public Cemetery at a later date.
