Lorraine Abram, age 90 of Arlington passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements Lorraine was born on January 23, 1921 in Dryden Township, Sibley County. She married Vern Abram of Brownton on October 1, 1937 in Glencoe. They farmed in rural Arlington until 1975 on the farm that Lorraine was born and raised. During that time she also was a bookkeeper for Pargas Co. in Gaylord for eight years. After leaving the farm in 1975 Lorraine lived in various communities including Dassel, Gaylord, Mesa and Arlington. She was active in church activities at Zion Lutheran where she served as financial secretary for years, taught Sunday School, and was a member of Zion's Church Women Organization. Mrs. Abram is survived by daughter, Jean Von Eschen of Arlington, son & daughter-in-law, Thomas (Hope) Abram of San Antonio, TX., 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, her parents and one brother.
