Lorraine Herrmann was born on January 2, 1924 in Blakely, MN to Willis and Martha Castor. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. She began working in Minneapolis until her marriage to the love of her life, William Herrmann. They moved to Le Sueur where Bill worked for Green Giant and Lorraine began her career as a wife, mother and homemaker. Lorraine was the mother of four children, Jo, Jill, Jack and Jim. She was an avid and excellent cook, and created a strong love of food and cooking in her entire family. She loved being with her family, playing cards, going to movies, shopping, vacations, cross stitch, sewing, gardening and much more. As her children grew older, she began working at Le Sueur High School in the audio visual department and continued that for several years. Lorraine died of natural causes at River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter, MN Sunday evening, March 11. A memorial service and celebration of her life will take place Friday, April 20, 11:00 a.m. at Zion UCC in Le Sueur. Visitation will begin one hour before the service. She will be buried with her husband at a private burial at a later date. Memorials preferred. Lorraine is survived by her four children, Jo Nelson, Jill Frank, Jim (fiance Shelly Wilking) Herrmann and Jack (Tami) Herrmann, many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and sister in law Irene (Bud) Castor. Lorraine is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill, sons in law Greg Frank, Mike Gergen and Darrell Nelson, her parents, Willis and Martha Castor and brothers Bud, Leon and Dale
