Louise Schwirtz, age 81, of Arlington, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Golden Hearts assisted living in Arlington. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, with Pastor Kurt Lehmkuhl presiding. Visitation will be from 1-3 P.M. Friday at the church. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Louise was born on May 21, 1930, in Green Isle Township, to Henry and Louise (Schuth) Bluemke. She was baptized by Rev. Karl Rueter at Zion Lutheran Church, and confirmed by Rev. Bert O. Struefurt. Louise was united in marriage to her husband of 56 years, Wilford Schwirtz by Rev. R. Koepp on June 30, 1948. Their union was blessed by seven children. She loved cooking, baking, quilting and embroidery, working in her home, playing cards and visiting with friends and family. Louise is survived by her children, Karen (Roger) Schatz of Arlington, David (Beverly) Schwirtz of Annandale, Sandra (Gene) Mathews of Glencoe, Allen (Dawn) Schwirtz of Arlington, Lisa (Roger) Schauer of Glencoe, and Tammy (Tony) Overson of Litchfield; 18 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister LaVerna Dahlke of Green Isle, sisters-in-law LuAnna Goetz of Waconia, Betty Schmitz of Pierz, Betty Schwirtz of Eagan, Fidelis Schwirtz of Edina, Mavis Huepenbecker of Glencoe, and Lorna Schwirtz of Norwood. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilford, son, Gary, granddaughter, Angela, brother, Ferdinand, sisters, Sophia, and Esther, sisters-in-law, Laura and Myrtle, and brothers-in-law, Arthur, Herbert, Walter, Ray, Wyman, Vincent, Frederick, William, Kenny and Wilbert.
