Lowell W.A. Panning

Lowell William Arthur Panning, age 67 of Arlington, Minnesota died on September 14, 2010 at the Sibley Medical Center. He was born on May 25, 1943 to Wilbert and Myrtle (Schwirtz) Panning. After graduating from Arlington High School, he studied at Lee's Barber School in St. Paul and took up a career as a barber. On October 26, 1963, Lowell married Barbara Griep at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. They made their first home in Plato before eventually settling in Arlington. Lowell, known to most as "L.P." loved to fish, play softball and watch the Twins. He is survived by his children, James Panning of Ironton, MN, Anne (Mark Rice) Panning of Brockport. NY, Amy (Daniel) Hardel of Montgomery, MN and Michael Panning and his girlfriend, Maggie Flantz of Ironton, MN; grandchildren Morgan, Lucas, and Allison Hardel, and Hudson & Lily Rice Panning; siblings Bert (Harriet) Panning of Green Isle and Lynnette (Randy ) Wehnert of Cologne. His wife, Barb, preceded him in death in 2007. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. and the service is at 11:00 a.m.
