Lydia Stier

Lydia Emma Wilhelmina (Kessler) Stier, age 102 of Belle Plaine, passed away on December 21, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Lydia was born in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County on August 19, 1913 to August & Hulda (Schultz) Kessler. She was baptized on September 14, 1913 at Friedrich's Kirche Church (Redeemer) in Blakeley Township and confirmed in 1928. On May 6, 1936 Lydia married Erwin Stier at Redeemer Lutheran Church. They farmed in Blakeley Township for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Erwin on July 9, 1982, sisters, Edna Stier & Irma Herder, brother, Edwin Kessler and many other relatives and friends. She is survived by her son, Merlin (Linda) Stier of Belle Plaine, 2 Step Granddaughters, Stacy (Luke) Weber & Jennifer (Alan) Babatz, 3 Great Grandsons, Bennett Weber, Ryan & Matthew Babatz, Sister, Luella Bromaghim, Many Nieces & Nephews
