Mabel Bessel

Mabel Bessel, age 89 of Lonsdale and formerly of Belle Plaine, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Villages of Lonsdale. Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Thursday, March 3rd at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30a.m. until the service time at the church on Thursday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Mabel was born in Belle Plaine on May 20, 1926 to Anton and Alvina (Holste) Laabs. On November 8, 1945 she married Warren Bessel. They farmed north of Belle Plaine for many years. They lived in Norwood for two years and most recently Mabel has lived in Lonsdale. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Warren in 2009. Mabel is survived by her children, David (Judy) Bessel of Belle Plaine, Wayne (Judy) Bessel of Young America, Arvin (Marjorie) Bessel of Belle Plaine, Joyce (Gary) Skluzacek of Lonsdale, Lyle (Suzy) Bessel of Henderson, 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren Many nieces and nephews.
