Mabel Meyer

Mabel Meyer, age 95 of Arlington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Arlington Good Samaritan.  Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.  Rev. Matthew Rauh will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning.  Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery followed by lunch at church social hall.

Mabel was born at home in Kelso Township, Sibley County on February 8, 1928 to Otto and Emma (Kleist) Schultz.  She was baptized February 19, 1928, confirmed May 18, 1941 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1946.

On April 10, 1949 she married Marvin Meyer.  While Marvin was in the Army, they lived in El Paso, TX and Coloardo Springs, CO until he went to Korea.   They raised their family in Arlington.  Mabel enjoyed gardening, canning, word searches and baking. There was always a sweet treat for visitors.  Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.  She was a member of the VFW for many years.  She worked at H.M. Noack, Big Stone Canning and over 30 years at Arlington Good Samaritan.  She lived a full life and made many friends along the way, she will be missed by many.

Mabel is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Emma, husband Marvin, daughter LuAnn Meyer, daughter in law Pam Meyer, Grandchildren Kyle Meyer and Kelly Paul, Great Grandson Corban Ferris.  Brothers, Gilbert, Clarence and Elmer.  Sisters, Elva, Velma and Delores.

Mabel is survived by her children, Larry Meyer of West St. Paul, Steve (Mary Jo) Meyer of Le Sueur, and Kris (Jim) Farber of Arlington.   Sister-in-laws Ramona Meyer, Vivian Meyer and Bonnie Meyer. 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren. Nieces & Nephews.
