Mabel M. Stuber

Mabel M. Stuber, age 97, of Green Isle, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Winthrop. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 20, at the Creekside Community Church in Arlington, MN, with Rev. Ben Lane officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mabel was born on May 17, 1914 to Frank and Winnie (Cady) Miller in Grafton Township, Sibley County. On June 18, 1932, Mabel was united in marriage to Herbert F. Stuber, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart, MN. Mabel and Herbert Lived on a farm near Buffalo Lake, and resided also in Silver Lake, Henderson and Stewart. Together they raised 4 boys and 10 girls. After Herbert's death, Mabel lived with her daughter Mavis in Arlington. Mabel liked playing cards, gardening, baking, cooking and fishing. She also liked to go out to eat at McDonald's and Burger King. Mabel loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and her dog Abbey. Mabel is survived by her children, Betty (Maynhardt) Bahrke of Belle Plaine, Lloyd (Tena) Stuber of Stewart, Dale (LaDonna) Stuber of Glencoe, Mary Ann Burgess of Winthrop, Shirley (Larry) Kottke of Yuma AZ, Darlene (Gene) Hennessey of Winsted, Carol (Gerald) Hennessey of Winthrop, Marlys (Lee) Hennessey of Brownton, Carlene Berger and special friend Randy of Le Center, Phyllis (Dale) Clarke of Nisswa, Mavis (Robert) Huetteman of Green Isle, and Larry (Sandy) Stuber of New Auburn. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert, son and daughter-in-law Frank and Shirley Stuber, daughter Evangeline Stuber, son-in-law William Burgess, brothers, Charlie, Art and LeRoy, sisters, Evelyn, Myrtle, Pearl and Irene, grandchildren, Teresa Hennessey, Peter and Paul Berger, and great grandson, Ricky Holmquist Jr.
