Marge was born on April 12, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in the Minneapolis area and graduated from Central High School. She married Jack Berg on June 15, 1957 and the couple raised their family in Burnsville, MN. She worked for many years as a secretary at Vista View Elementary School in Burnsville. After the kids grew up, they left Burnsville in 1980 and relocated to Jack’s hometown of Erskine, MN where they owned and operated Berg Hardware for several years and lived on Union Lake. The couple later retired to Longville, MN and spent winters in Sun City, AZ. and most recently moved to Belle Plaine to be closer to their daughter Leslie.

Marge enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She loved playing card games and board games with them. She also loved family fishing trips to the end of the gunflint trail, where son Mike owns a fishing guide service, Seagull Creek Fishing Camp.

Marge made the best cookies, and her turkey pita sandwiches were legendary on fishing trips. She was an excellent lefse maker and taught the family this annual tradition, with all her recipe secrets she learned when they lived in Erskine. Marge was a serious antique collector and treasured the Roseville Pottery her mother Dorothy started collecting and passed down to her. She was an avid quilter for many decades and everyone in the family has a beloved quilt that she made with love.

She is survived by her husband, Jack. Children, Michael Berg (Claudia Blake) of Grand Marais, MN, Jeffrey Berg (Katelyn) and Leslie Lein (Brett) of Belle Plaine, MN and sister, Diane Duvick of Prior Lake, MN, grandchildren Courtney (Tim) Quaife, Curtis Blake, Connor Blake, Jessica Berg-Collman, Andrew Berg, Luke Berg, Joseph (Amy) Reynolds, Mary Reynolds (Nathan Blad), Alice Reynolds (Trevor Ellsworth), and 15 great-grandchildren.
