Marian Anna Volling

Marian A. Volling, age 100, died on Monday, April 07, 2014 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska, Minnesota. She was born on December 18, 1913 at Blue Earth, Minnesota to Emil and Ernestine (Platzke) Belau. Marian graduated from Blue Earth High School and worked as a legal secretary for the Blue Earth County Attorney. She married Lloyd C. Volling on May 19, 1938 at Blue Earth. They made their home in LeSueur for most of their married lives. Marian was very involved with the life of LeSueur, volunteering with the Minnesota Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Zion United Church of Christ, and Friends of the Library. She was an avid golfer at the LeSueur Country Club and enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bridge, and especially time spent with family and friends. She is survived by her son, James (Connie) Volling of Excelsior, Minnesota; three grandsons, Jon (Jessie) Volling of Shorewood, Minnesota, Jeff (Lisa) Volling of New York, New York, and Justin Volling of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Hailey Volling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd in 2008, and by one sister and 10 brothers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Noon at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur. Rev. Kent Meyer and Rev. Jean Sidner will officiate. Private interment in Mound Cemetery will be prior to the service. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur. A lunch and time of fellowship will follow the memorial service. Memorials preferred to Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home or to Zion United Church of Christ.
