Marie Hayden

Marie Hayden, age 92 of Minnetonka and formerly of Le Sueur, died on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur with Fr. George Grafsky officiating. Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur on Wednesday, starting with a 4:00 p.m. C.C.W. Rosary and concluding at 8:00 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service, visitation will also continue from 9a.m. To 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur. Marie was born on May 27, 1918 to John and Regina (Kelly) Callahan in Scott County, Minnesota. She attended and graduated from New Prague High school. She married Bernard W. Hayden on Oct. 4, 1937 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. The couple farmed in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County for many years. Marie also worked at the Coast-to-Coast Store in Le Sueur for 18 years. She moved to Le Sueur following the death of Bernard in 1986. Marie was active over the years in St. Anne's Catholic Church and C.C.W, St. Thomas Card Club, Knitting and Sewing Club, Member of the "Red Hats", Belle Plaine V.F.W. Auxilary, and in 1986 was St. Patrick's Grand Marshall along with Bernard in Le Center. She is survived by her children, Tom (Kathy) Hayden of Plymouth, MN, Michael (Bonnie) Hayden of Edina, MN, Richard (Jeannie) Hayden of Belle Plaine, MN, Regina Hayden (Lanny) Schmiedeberg of Minnetonka, MN, Anne (Richard) Savage of Owatonna, MN, Bernadette (Scott) Osborn of Minnetonka, MN, Kathleen (Terry) Benzi of Maple Grove, MN, and Trish (Dale) Larson of Mankato, MN; brothers, John Callahan of Delta Junction, Alaska and Thomas "Bud" Callahan of Le Sueur; 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Carol Callahan, Marilyn Hayden and Frances "Fritz" Hayden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; children, Jim, Mary Jo and Bill; grandson, John Hayden, sisters, Patsy Kindy and Dolly Moriarty and brother, Jim Callahan.
