Marie S. Stumpf

Marie S. Stumpf, age 94 of Le Sueur, died on Wednesday morning at the Minnesota Valley Health Care Facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be on Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, starting with a 4:00 p.m. C.C.W. Rosary and concluding at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until about 10:15 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur. Marie was born on October 6, 1921 to Korbinian & Gertrude (Wintheiser) Riedlechner in Little Falls, MN. She attended and graduated from Little Falls High School. She married Roman Stumpf on April 12, 1944 at Sacred Heart Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple lived in Little Falls for a short time after their marriage and moved to Long Prairie in 1947. In 1953 they moved to Le Sueur, MN where Marie raised her children with Roman. She later worked at Green Giant in Ag Research and was a lab technician. Marie especially enjoyed dancing with Roman, cards, baking and canning and was active and longtime member of St. Anne's Church in Le Sueur. She is survived by her children; Barb Rizor of Le Sueur; Mary (John) Dykstra of Roberts, WI; Tom Stumpf of Waconia and his fiancé Patti Bartusek and Joan (Bob) Burns of Janesville, MN. 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roman in 2008; sisters, Gertrude Daninger, Elizabeth Wilkes and Anna Meyer and son-in-law, Kenneth Rizor in 2015.
