Marie H. Wentzlaff, age 92, of Arlington, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Golden Hearts Senior Living in Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. continuing until service time at the church. Rev. Bruce Hanneman will officiate. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Arlington Township. Marie was born in Washington Lake Township on July 15, 1919, to Fred C. and Paula (Beneke) Proehl. She was baptized on July 17, 1919 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, and was confirmed on March 9, 1933, also at Emanuel Lutheran Church Marie graduated from Glencoe High School in 1938, and on October 6, 1940, was united in marriage to Clarence F. Wentzlaff, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. She and her husband were lifelong farmers, and she enjoyed her role as homemaker on the farm. Marie and Clarence lived on the farm until his death on March 12, 1987, and Marie continued to make the farm her home until she moved into Golden Hearts Senior Living in 2006. Marie is survived by her son Kenneth (Helena) Wentzlaff of Arlington, grandchildren Paulette Wentzlaff, James (Cori) Wentzlaff, and John (Kelli) Wentzlaff. Great grandchildren Mitchel, Jacob, Tyler, Hannah, Claire, Thomas, and Adam Wentzlaff. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, daughter Elaine on March 3, 1963, parents Fred and Paula, brothers Harry, Erwin, and Edwin Proehl, and sisters Esther, Elva and Lillian Proehl.
