Marilyn Marie Koepp, age 78 of Belle Plaine, went to her heavenly home suddenly on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7p.m. on Tuesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Marilyn was born to John and Alma (Schmidt) Stier in Blakely Township on August 27, 1939. Marilyn was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was baptized on September 17, 1939 and confirmed her faith on March 29, 1953. Marilyn graduated from Belle Plaine High School in May of 1957. On September 18, 1958 Marilyn was joined in marriage to Norman Koepp and lived on the Koepp family farm until moving to a new house in 1994. Marilyn held several jobs, bank teller, cook at The Lutheran Home, farming and everything involved with farming, but the job she was most proud of raising her family. She was known for her egg salad and potato salad and was asked to make it on many, many occasions. She was an amazing cook and baker. She was a patient teacher, sharing her recipes with her family, showing them how to cook and bake. Marilyn was very involved with St. John in many ways. She was on the funeral lunch committee for years. She was very involved with the Women's group, Ice Cream Social, putting together the "Messenger" and the annual reports at church. She took great pride in her organizational skills and loved to participate in the Thursday morning coffee at Cindy's. Marilyn is survived her children, Sherry (Richard) Krentz, Henderson Mark (Tammy) Koepp, Belle Plaine John (Susie) Koepp, Belle Plaine Wayne (Kerry) Koepp, Belle Plaine Kim (Brian) Jaster, St. Peter Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren: Tim Krentz, Terry (Josh), Alex & Emily Muehlenhardt, Tom (Rose) & Melvin Krentz, Bruce (Allison) & Hazel Koepp, Brad (Jessica), Rynn & Calla Chard, Jeff (Hannah) & Lillian Chard, Michael Koepp (Katie Budde), Maria (Jordan) Jonason, Sarah (Aaron), Lucy, Macy & Annie Leonard, Kayla (Nate) Heinz, Becky Koepp, Eric Jaster, Morgan Jaster, Kelly Jaster Sister, Evonne and Wallace Otto, Belle Plaine Brother, Darrell Stier and Barb Siemieniewski, Le Center Brothers and Sister in laws: Mary Koepp, Earl and Lorraine Koepp, Alverna Laabs, Armin and Irene Koepp, Wesley and LaVonne Koepp, Sanarose and Ron Krenik, Lynette Koepp, Bill Koepp and Janel Schmidt. Many nieces and nephews Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Norman in June, 2000, parents John and Alma Stier, Brothers and sister in law Frederick Koepp, Gerhard Laabs and Marvella Stier, nephews Gary and Kevin Stier. Memorials are preferred to St. John Building Fund.
