Marjorie T. Flantz, age 91 of Gaylord, died on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Grandview Good Samaritan Home in St. Peter, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church on County Road 8, rural Gaylord. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Rev. William Nelsen will officiate the services. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Marjorie was born on December 12, 1919 in Henderson, MN to Arthur and Martha (Battcher)) Nagel. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. She married Elroy Flantz on Sept. 7, 1941 at St. John's Lutheran Church. They resided on their SibleyTownship farm until 1994 when they moved to Gaylord. Marjorie also worked as a nurses aide at the Gardenview Nursing Home. They shared 66 years of marriage before Elroy passed away on May 9, 2008. She was a faithful lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved cooking, gardening, quilting, card clubs, fishing and traveling. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very important to her. Marjorie is survived by two sons, Duane (Carole) Flantz of Alexandria, MN; Douglas Flantz of Blaine, MN. Daughters, Wanda (Greg) Windschitl of Rochester and Sandra (Walt) Grochow of St. Peter, MN. 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy, brother Myron Nagel, 3 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. Memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
