Marjorie Melcher

Marjorie Melcher, age 90 of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 28, 2019.  Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Jordan.  Rev. Jeremy Glowicki will officiate.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

Marjorie was born in Belle Plaine Township, Scott County on July 21, 1929 to Paul & Mathilda (Nagel) Kroening.  On June 16, 1954 she married Emil Melcher at Trinity Ev. Lutheran in Belle Plaine.  They were blessed with one child, Christine.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking and watching game shows on T.V.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Mathilda, husband, Emil, brother, Emory and sister, Marcella who died in infancy.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Christine Melcher of Seattle, WA,

Sister, Vivian (Herman) Luedloff of Belle Plaine, and nieces & nephews.
