Mark E. Fisher, age 93, residing in Belle Plaine, formerly of South Minneapolis, passed away at Kingsway Retirement Living in Belle Plaine on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will start one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN at a later date.
Mark was born on July 11, 1932, in Albert Lea, MN to Louis “Scotty” and Mary (Wolfe) Fisher. Mark grew up in South Minneapolis. He attended St. Albert the Great Catholic school (where he met Marlene Power in the 5th grade) and St. Thomas Military Acdemy. In 1952, he was drafted into the Army. He was based in Fort Riley, KS. He returned to South Minneapolis to marry Marlene Power in 1953. They just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on March 31st.
Mark is survived by his wife, Marlene; 6 children, Lydia Velander (Ron), Teresa Fisher, Steven Fisher (Rhonda), Paul Fisher (Donna), Joseph Fisher (Elizabeth), and Sara Fisher-Goad (Raymond); 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mark was loved by all and respected by many.
