Mark J. Huber

Mark J. Huber, age 84 of Belle Plaine died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at church. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Mark was born on March 31, 1926 to Frank and Margaret (Luskey) Huber in LeSueur, MN. He grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII. When Mark returned to Minnesota, he married Ivona "Toy" Weiss on January 27, 1948 in Glencoe, MN. He worked as a meat cutter for the family business, which he and his brother Fran took over in 1966. In 1984, Mark retired and sold the family business to his sons Joe and Bill. He was a member of the Belle Plaine Vets Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-laws Leona and Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Toy of Belle Plaine, Children, Joe Huber of Belle Plaine, Mary Kay (Todd) Proshek of New Prague, and Bill (Lois) Huber of Belle Plaine, Grandchildren, Timothy, Jennifer (Chris) Witt, Daniel, Patrick, Katie (Andy) Stoterau, Nick (Stacy), Tom, Kelly, Paul (Fiancee Tina Odegard) Proshek and Katelyn Proshek, Great Grandchildren, Bryce and London Witt, Ella, Addie and Audrey Stoterau, Tristan and Avery Huber, Siblings, Art (Pat) Huber of Belle Plaine, Fran Huber of Belle Plaine, John Huber of Willmar, Jim (Lu) Huber of Canby, Mary (Graham) Jaros of East China, MI and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
