Marlene Fisher, age 93, residing in Belle Plaine, MN, formerly of South Minneapolis, passed away at Kingsway Retirement Living in Belle Plaine on the 29th of July. Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Prairie in Belle Plaine, MN on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour before mass at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at a later date.
Marlene was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 29, 1932. The first child of Marvin and Sussette Power. Marlene attended St. Albert the Great Catholic School, where she met Mark Fisher in the fifth grade. Marlene graduated high school in 1950 from St. Margaret’s (now Benilde-St. Margaret’s). Marlene and Mark were married in March of 1953. They were married for 73 years until the passing of Mark in April 2026.
Marlene and Mark raised 6 children.

Marlene has 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to being survived by her children and grandchildren, Marlene is also survived by her brother, Marvin Power.
Marlene was involved in many activities, including but not limited to making goulash (Slovak style) for every large family gathering and Kolache (prune and poppyseed) every Christmas.
Marlene was the pillar of our family.
