Le Sueur

Marlene J. Bertrang died unexpectedly on December 13, 2025. She was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on April 12, 1935 to Alex and Eva (Schela) Kuntz. She graduated from Sebeka High School in 1953. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and worked in various administrative positions. She always talked fondly of the years she lived there with her girlfriends. In 1956, she met Myron Bertrang and immediately knew they would someday marry. On February 9, 1957, Myron and Marlene married at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Menahga, MN and 68 years of adventure followed. The couple moved to Le Sueur, Minnesota and had four children who were the greatest joy of her life. As much as she loved motherhood, Marlene also greatly enjoyed working as a doctor’s assistant for Dr. Limbeck and others. Marlene loved sewing and cooking for her family. In her later years, Marlene and Myron spent many happy years traveling and wintering in Florence, Arizona. She was at her happiest when she was hosting large family gatherings and weekly coffees with her girlfriends. Marlene is survived by her devoted husband Myron; her beloved children Mary Miller, Mark Bertrang (Betty), Michelle Bertrang, and Mitchell Bertrang (Maureen), eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, siblings Robert Kuntz (Mary), Kathleen Wellmann (Eugene) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dalores Kern (Ken) and her brother Donald Kuntz (Mary).
