Martha Shultis

Martha M. "Mickey" Shultis, age 105 of LeSueur, Minnesota and formerly of the Elysian area died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur. She was born on December 12, 1905 at Waterville to Gustof and Elizabeth (Neuendorf) Meyer. Martha graduated from Waterville High School in May of 1924. She married Frank Shultis on December 16, 1927 in Waterville. After their marriage they owned and operated Beaver Dam Resort between Lake Jefferson and German Lake starting with 21 cabins. They resided on a 80 acre farm adjoining Hardeggars Ballroom. She is survived by her step-son, Donald Shultis of New Berlin, WI; brother Roland "Chuck" Meyer of Pequot Lakes and a sister-in-law, Gloria Meyer of Waseca and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1976; brothers, George and Raymond and sisters, Charlotte and Henrietta. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur. Interment of cremains will be in the Our Saviors Lutheran Church Cemetery near Cleveland, Minnesota and a lunch will follow at Our Saviors Church in Cleveland.
