Marvin L. Bethke

Marvin L. Bethke, age 84 of Henderson passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19th at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington with visitation one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Interment will be in St. John's of New Rome Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is assisting the family with arrangements. Marvin was born on June 6, 1933 to Louis and Lydia Bethke. In 1955 he married Shirley Bauer of Gaylord and they made their home on Marvin's Timberview Family farm. In 2017 they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on May 21st. Marvin raised animals and crops and then worked at John Deere Equipment in Arlington and Glencoe and remained a farmer until his passing. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, traveling and woodworking. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Lydia Bethke and son-in-law, Bill Brau. Marvin is survived by his wife; Shirley Bethke of rural Henderson, his five children; Kevin Bethke (Beth Alwin) of Illinois, Rhonda Brau of Minnesota, Jan Bethke (Steven Harsh) of Virginia, Craig Bethke of Minnesota and James Bethke (Kathryn Papillon) of Texas, grandchildren; Giselle Alwin Bethke, Justin Bethke, Logan Brau, Calder Alwin Bethke and Briana Brau, sister; Elaine Blade as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
