Marvin Kopischke, age 98, of Arlington, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to service time at the Church. Rev. James Carlson will officiate. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Morgan, MN. Marvin Kopischke was born in Morgan, MN on July 20, 1914, to Fred and Ernstine (Fenske) Kopischke. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan, and spent his school years in Morgan as well. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. During his time in the Army, he worked on road construction in both Canada and Alaska, and his dedication earned him the rank of Technical Sergeant. In November of 1957, Marvin was united in marriage to Margaret Hanson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan. In the spring of 1976, Marvin was married to Charlotte Leach, in St. Paul, MN. Marvin made his living running heavy machinery, and worked road construction for 41 years in both Minnesota and South Dakota. Marvin enjoyed horses and rodeos, and also enjoyed traveling and gardening. Marvin is survived by his wife Charlotte, stepsons; Allan (Cheryl) Leach, Gordon (Maureen) Leach, stepdaughter-in-law Marlene Leach and nine step-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Virginia Kopischke, brother-in-law Jim Whitcomb and several nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret and three siblings, Frieda, Meta and Emil.
