Marvin George Wentzlaff, age 89 of Arlington died on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his home. Memorial services will be on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be at the Arlington Public Cemetery. Lunch to follow the memorial service at church.

Marvin was born on January 2, 1935, in Jessenland Township of Sibley County, MN to August and Clara (Brockoff) Wentzlaff. He grew up in the Arlington area and as a young man he helped on the family farm. He married Verona Dahlke at Zion Lutheran Church in New Auburn Township, Sibley County on May 19, 1956. The couple lived in the Arlington area their entire life. He was co-owner of Wentzlaff and Laabs Construction where he spent many years working in the masonry industry. After retiring from the masonry industry, he took on a part-time role mowing lawn and maintaining the seasonal buildings at Seneca Foods in Arlington, MN, where he worked for 16 years. He was a member of the Green Isle Lions Club. Marvin was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington where he served as an usher and helped with altar duties. He enjoyed bowling, playing sheephead, camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking and going to auctions. He genuinely enjoyed his time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Verona, Children; Mark (Deb) Wentzlaff of Green Isle, MN, Daniel (Nancy) Wentzlaff of Spicer, MN, Rhonda (Steven) Witthus of Glencoe, MN, and Joel (Tami) Wentzlaff of Goodwin, SD. Grandchildren; Matthew Wentzlaff, Marissa (Chris) Rannow, Nathan (Hannah) Wentzlaff, Austin (Bree) Wentzlaff, Braydn and Colton Wentzlaff. Great-grandchildren; Hayley, Jordan, Barnabas, Zoe, Joanna, and Leo. Sisters; Alice Donnay of Glencoe, MN and Marion Wendorff of Crosby, MN.   Numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, David in 1975 and siblings, Mabel, Justina, Elmer, Earl, Roy, Luella, and Leora.

Memorials are preferred to the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran School in Arlington, MN.
