Mary Bernice Berg Age 72, of rural Carver, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at East Union Lutheran Church, with Reverend Bryant Bakkum officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, with a lunch served in the church social hall.

Mary was born on June 2, 1952, in New Prague, Minnesota, to Walter and Blanche (Vannurden) Schuldt. She grew up in Belle Plaine and attended Trinity Lutheran School through 8th grade, later graduating from Belle Plaine High School. On August 5, 1972, she married Harold Berg at Trinity Lutheran Church, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love and faith.

In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Mary had a successful career. She worked for many years at Young America Corporation as a client service representative, followed by a position as the Environmental Services Director at The Lutheran Home. After retiring in 1999, Mary took on a new role that brought her immense joy—caring for and nurturing her beloved grandchildren, a role she embraced with boundless love.

Mary's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of East Union Lutheran Church, where she served her community with kindness and compassion. Her strong Christian faith was something she held dear, and she instilled those values in her children, who carry them forward in their own lives. Mary’s devotion to her family, church, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; children Michael (Amanda) Berg of Carver, Daniel (fiancé Nicole Manteuffel) Berg of Norwood-Young America, Jennifer (Ryan) Johnson of Norwood-Young America, and Andrew (Casey Reckinger) Berg of Green Isle; her treasured grandchildren Savannah, Josephine, Adalena, and Sven Berg; Seth, Daniel, Michael, Estelle, Nathanael, Brayleigh, and Bayder Berg; and Douglas, Jane, and Adeline Johnson. Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Blanche Schuldt, and her sisters Viola Odenthal, Lois Schuldt, and Ruth Schuldt.

Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love, strength, and unwavering faith will be cherished forever.
