Mary L. Braun, age 86 of LeSueur died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 surrounded by her family at home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and one hour prior to the services at church on Monday. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Mary was born on February 13, 1926 to Roy and Louise (Steinigeweg) Pinney in Sharon Twp., LeSueur County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church in LeSueur. She attended country school through the 8th grade where she met Paul for the first time at county graduation. They were both valedictorian of their graduating 8th grade classes. She graduated from LeSueur High School in 1944 also as valedictorian. She did bookkeeping for Meierbachtol Hardware for about 6 years. She attended Mankato Commercial College. On August 23, 1950 she married Paul Braun at the Presbyterian Church in LeSueur. She was a lifelong partner on the family farm where she kept the books for many years. She was a 4-H leader, active in Zion Church, especially Naomi Circle. She was a member of Home Extension, card club and a member of the Minnesota Valley Memorial Hospital Auxilliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, music and spending time with her family which she adored. She was also a devoted diary writer all her life. Mary is survived by her husband, Paul; children, David (Betty Jo) Braun of LeSueur, Kathy (Jim) Deidrick of Waverly, Robert (Betty) Braun of LeSueur, Brian (Cindy) Braun of LeSueur and Ron (Wendy) Braun of Apple Valley; granchildren, Josh (Beth) Braun, Rev. Lindsey Braun, Dan Braun, Matt (Sonya) Deidrick, Sarah (Jackson) Motzko, Nate Braun and his fiancee Jackie, Molly (Ryan) Thelemann, Maggie (Seth) Hughes, Peter Braun, Jake Braun and Abby Braun; great-grandchildren, Laura and Elijah Braun, Aria Deidrick, Paige and Carter Motzko and Jack and Elena Thelemann; sister, Frances (Elden) Schwarz; sisters-in-law, Vivian Pinney and Sharon Pinney; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Rita) Braun, Delmer (Betty) Braun and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald and William Pinney; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ray and Doris Vlasak; sister-in-law, Irma Braun and granddaughter, Julie Braun.
