Mary A. Gregory

Mary A. Gregory, age 88 of Belle Plaine, died on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at The Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, with Fr. Brian Lynch officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of the Prairie Church in Belle Plaine.  Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Belle Plaine followed by a luncheon at church.

Mary was born on March 27, 1931 to Edward & Christina (Malecha) Skluzacek on the family farm in Rice County, MN.  She grew up in the New Prague area and graduated from New Prague High School in 1949.  She worked various jobs in the New Prague area before she was married.    She married Harold Gregory on October 8, 1955 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. The couple lived in the Belle Plaine area their entire married life. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed her time with her family, especially grandchildren. She was a gifted  seamstress and made many special occasion dresses for her family.  She was an active member of Our Lady of the Prairie C.C.W. for many years and took care of the linens for over 30 years.  She enjoyed her time with family and always had time for a cup of coffee and visiting.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Carmen (Steve) Davis, Jerry (significant other, Janice Molitor) Gregory, Cindy (Frank) Nikols, Ron (Sue) Gregory, and Bernadette (Dave) Loegering; grandchildren, Peter (Amy) Hormann, Sarah Slattery, Katie (Ryan) Anderson, Justin (Heidi) Davis, Brent Davis, Matt (Diana) Gregory, Brenna Gregory, Monique, Mia, Chloe, Demi, and Bianca Nikols, Sam and Josh Gregory, and Nate Loegering; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bernard Skluzacek, Joe (Eileen) Skluzacek, Betty Odenthal and Patricia Graham.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in November of 2018 and siblings, Edward Skluzacek and Rita Wagner.
