Mary J. Harsh

Mary Harsh, age 79 of Belle Plaine, died on November 20, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery. Mary was born in Hopkins, Minnesota on April 27, 1934 to Kenneth and Gertrude (Malecek) Heiland. Mary graduated from Hopkins High School in 1952. On October 26, 1957 she married Robert Harsh in Hopkins. Mary worked at Hopkins Standard Oil as a punch key operator. She later worked as a cook at Belle Plaine Elementary as well as being a homemaker for her family. Mary volunteered in Belle Plaine as an election judge and Queen of Peace Hospice Auxiliary. She was involved in the Red Hats, and loved spending time golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening, cooking, dancing and bird watching. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Eugene Heiland. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Belle Plaine; 4 Daughters, Connie (Peter) Glisczinski of Belle Plaine, Jane (Gene) Bohlmam of Jordan, Kristie (James) Rucks of Belle Plaine, Heidi (Jason Hague) Harsh of Hollywood, FL; 9 Grandchildren, Jonathan, Angela, Andrea, Emily, Scott, Erica, Ryan, Felica, Jimmy; 5 Great-Grandchildren; Many Nieces and Nephews.
