Mary Mcmahon

Mary Ellen McMahon, age 72 of Belle Plaine, passed away on July 8, 2021 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  Memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 31st at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall, Minnesota.

Mary was born in Redwood Falls on August 23, 1948 to John and Alice (Worden) McMahon.  She grew up in the Marshall area and graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic School.  She lived in Santa Barbara, CA. for a handful of years in the early 1970’s when the company she worked for, Jostens, transferred her out there.  She then moved back to Marshall, MN in the mid 1970’s and worked for the State of MN at Southwest College.  In 1981 her and her daughter, Melissa, moved to Shakopee, MN when she got a job doing data entry for Control Data in Bloomington.  She then continued to live in various areas of the SW Twin Cities.  She went back to work for the State of MN in the late 1980’s where she worked for the Department of Corrections for several years and then finally in the early 1990’s transferred to Hennepin Technical College where she work until she retired in 2017.  She enjoyed reading, Sudoku, HGTV and spending time with her great nieces Brooke and Jenna.
