Mary Lou Stier

Mary Lou Stier, age 80 of Belle Plaine, passed away on October 16, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Sarah Timian will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mary Lou was born in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County on April 6, 1935 to Walter & Louise (Dressel) Krant. She attended country school and Graduated from Le Sueur High School. On September 10, 1960 she married Donald Stier at Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church in Le Sueur. They farmed near Belle Plaine and Mary Lou also worked at the Lutheran Home for many years. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Belle Plaine, Ladies Aid at St. John, enjoyed the Twins, bowling, playing cards and fishing. She is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene, parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Tim (Mary) Stier of Belle Plaine, Scott Stier (fiancée Kelly Hartwig) of Belle Plaine, Sherry Smith of Plymouth, Grandchildren, Travis, Stephanie & Jessie Smith, Matthew Murphy, Mitchel Stier, Casey Roundy, Brothers, Wally (Pat) Krant & Kenny (Shirley) Krant of Belle Plaine, Brother in law, Roger (Marie) Stier of Belle Plaine, Sister in law, Lila Schmidt of Belle Plaine, Great aunt, Violet Krueger, Many nieces and nephews.
