MaryAnn Alice Wagner, age 82, of Belle Plaine died on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Gertrude's Health Care Center in Shakopee. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Kolden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. MaryAnn was born on August 2, 1931in Derrynane Township, LeSueur County to Benjamin and Mary (Pianko) Labin. She attended country school near St. Thomas and Union Hill and graduated from New Prague High School. She married Joseph G. Wagner on December 27, 1950 in New Prague. They made their home in Belle Plaine. She was a homemaker and also had worked at Dotty's Café, Excelsior Plastics, Seagate and Huber's Red Owl. MaryAnn loved cooking and baking for family and neighbors, helping cook sauerkraut for the church festival and helped lead the Rosary regularly at Our Lady of the Prairie. She is survived by her children, Dave (Kim) Wagner of Belle Plaine and Mary (Dennis) Schoenbauer of New Prague; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Wagner, Ben Wagner, Mary Terese (Jem) Houser and Michelle Schoenbauer. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, daughter, Karen Bartusek in 2013 and 2 grandchildren, Melissa Kerber and Mary Ellen Schoenbauer as well as a sister, Betty Veches.
