Matthew David Novotny

Matthew David Novotny, age 38, of Minneapolis passed away unexpectedly on August 7th, 2022. Visitation and celebration of Matt’s life will be held on Friday, August 12th starting at 5:00 p.m. concluding with an 8:00 prayer service at Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, Minnesota. Interment will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery on a later date.

Matthew was born on March 16th, 1984 and grew up in New Prague, Minnesota where he graduated from New Prague High School in 2002. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served three years. Following his discharge, Matthew went to Park University where he received his bachelor's degree in Accounting. He then started his career at MRI Global for 16 years and ended at Abdo as an associate accountant as well as being on the Board of Directors at Mid-America Freedom Band.

Matthew enjoyed spending his time camping, traveling, and spending time with his many friends and family. He played bass clarinet and was very passionate about the bands.  He was also an avid member of the Pride Community.

Matthew is survived by his parents; David W. and Jean Novotny of New Prague, Siblings; Jennifer (Justin) Wollan of North Mankato, Julie (fiancé Eben Van Rooyen) Novotny of Mankato, Nicholas (Sara) Novotny of Duluth, Nieces and Nephews; Nora and Marvin Novotny, and Taylen Wollan.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
