Maynard Krentz

January 3, 1934 — February 8, 2020

Maynard M. Krentz, age 86 of Le Sueur, formerly of Belle Plaine, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home at Oak Terrace Senior Living. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, February 14 at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Maynard was born in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County on January 3, 1934 to Fred and Minnie (Latzke) Krentz.  Maynard was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He attended country school and Le Sueur High School. Maynard proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956 to 1962.

On November 26, 1959 he was united in marriage to Eunice Reinke at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He farmed all his life until retiring and moving to Belle Plaine in 1995. On June 24, 2012, he married Doris Edberg. Maynard enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, woodworking, bowling, and watching sports, especially those where his grandchildren participated.  He was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Linda (David) Winterfeldt: their children, Jennifer (Clare Dudzinski), Christopher (Melanie), and Michael (Kayla); Larry (Jane) Krentz: their children, Melissa, Daniel, and Collin; Wayne (Sue) Krentz: their son, Lee (special friend, Ashley Henry); Karen (Denos) Riewer: their children, Daniel (Alyssa), Austin (fiancée, Kelly Mast), and Anthony; Myron (Mary) Krentz: their children, Megan, Madilyn, and Molly; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and William Winterfeldt;  step-children,  LuAnne (Larry) Huber, Lana (Larry) Beck, Loren (Peg) Edberg, and Lee (Kris) Edberg and their families; siblings, Lois King and Frederick Krentz, both of Le Sueur; in-laws, Dorothy Jacobus of Arlington, Robert (Irene) Reinke of Adrian, Leona Krentz, and Audrey Litzau (Jake Bandemer) all of Lester Prairie; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; parents, Fred and Minnie Krentz; brother, Earl Krentz; and sister, Elmira Otto.
