Maynhardt G. Bahrke

Maynhardt Gustav Herman Bahrke, age 82 of Belle Plaine, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Tim Redfield will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, June 13 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and will continue on Sunday one hour prior to service time at church. Interment, with Military Honors by the Belle Plaine Honor Guard, will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Maynhardt was born on January 5, 1933 to William and Eliza (Seefelt) Bahrke in Lester Prairie, MN. He married Betty Jane Ruth Stuber on February 18, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart, MN. He was a professional mason and cement finisher for local contractors and took pride in teaching the trade. He later became the manager of the Belle Plaine Vets Club and was very active in their many projects and events. Maynhardt also drove bus for Stier Bus Compnay. He belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 144, VFW Post 6202, 40/8 Voiture, Belle Plaine Sportsman's Club, Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever, and current member of the Cement Finisher's Union. He was instrumental and involved in the development and construction of Veterans Park in Belle Plaine. He enjoyed playing cards, listening to old time music, having breakfast with friends, watching and feeding the birds. Maynhardt is survived by his children, Debbra (Richard) Schroeder of Belle Plaine, Marilee (Tim) Schwichtenberg of Belle Plaine and Glenden Bahrke of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Chuck (Dawn) Winter, Jennifer Winter, Jessica (Michael) Nagel, Chad Schroeder, Allison (Collin) Bone and Adam Schwichtenberg; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Samantha and Sabrina Winter, Jonathan, Jackson and Jase Schroeder and Elizabeth "Babes" Nagel and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty in 2012; sister, Lenora (Martin) Schultz; brother, Wilbert (Helen) Bahrke; son-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Winter.
