Merle Raymond Moser, age 84 of Le Sueur, died on June 16, 2014 at the Le Sueur Health Care Center. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment with military honors will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur. Rev. Luke Nelson will officiate the services. Merle was born on March 8, 1930 to Arthur Jacob Moser and Helen Caroline (Antonsen) Moser in Le Sueur, Minnesota. He graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1947. Merle served as a communications specialist during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He returned to Le Sueur where he met Elizabeth Coral Grover who was teaching at the Le Sueur Elementary School. He married her on December 28, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Richville, Minnesota. He began farming with his father, eventually purchasing the family farm in Ottawa Township. Merle was an active member of the community: he was a life member and long-time fixture at the Le Sueur United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees but especially enjoyed ushering with his cousin, Eugene Sunderman; he was a long-time 4-H leader and volunteer, as well as serving many years on the Ottawa Township Board and Le Sueur Ambulance Board. Merle enjoyed many things in life, but had a few favorite hobbies: raising dogs, building clocks and model railroading. Merle was preceded in death by his parents, sons Wayne Arthur Moser and Steven Cyril Moser, and sister Elaine (Mrs. Willis) Schleeve. He is survived by his wife "Betty"; children Kathryn Marron (Tom) of Saint Paul and Scott Moser of Humboldt, Iowa; grandchildren Amanda (Noah) Bluesky of Afton, Leif (Hannah) Moser of St. Paul, Samuel Marron of Los Angeles, Colin Marron, Mackenzie Marron all of St. Paul, and Nathaniel Moser of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren Jaxon and Ava Bluesky, and many much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
