Michael John Lynch

September 12, 1950 — February 17, 2026

Michael J. Lynch, age 75 of Le Sueur, passed away on February 17, 2026, in the home that he loved, surrounded by his family. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur at 11 A.M. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Kolden Funeral Home from 4-7 P.M. A luncheon will follow the service at St. Anne’s Catholic School in Le Sueur.

Mike was born on September 12, 1950, in Anoka to John and Patricia (Boos) Lynch and graduated from high school in Coon Rapids. On July 7, 1973, he married Debbie Monahan in Maplewood. Together they built their life in St. Paul before settling in Le Sueur in 1983.

Mike worked for Midwest Electric in Mankato before beginning many dedicated years with American Air Filter. He later spent 11 years as a real estate agent, retiring in 2008. In recent years, he was a familiar and friendly face at the local rest area in Le Sueur where he worked as a custodian.

Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether camping or relaxing at the river. He was proud of his Irish heritage and passed that pride along to his children and grandchildren. He loved “the oldies” music, inappropriate jokes, and being a smart aleck, always ready with a quick comeback or a playful grin.

Mike found true happiness in the simple pleasures of home. He could fix just about anything and was the original MacGyver, happiest while tinkering in his garage or working in his yard.

Above all else, Mike loved his family with his whole heart. Family was not just important to him, it was his greatest joy, his proudest accomplishment, and the center of his world. He cherished every moment spent together, whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply sitting side by side. He showed his love not only in words, but also in the quiet, steady way he cared for those around him.

He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, celebrating their successes as if they were his own and standing beside them through every challenge. Whether it was fixing something that was broken, offering advice (sometimes whether you asked for it or not), or simply showing up whenever he was needed, his family always knew they could count on him. Time spent together meant everything to him. He loved sharing stories, teasing with his trademark humor, and passing down family traditions and values that will continue for generations.

Mike was known for being good with advice and long talks. He had a way of listening carefully, offering guidance, and helping others see things more clearly. Whether it was life lessons shared in the family room, a heartfelt conversation in the garage, or talks late into the evening by a bonfire. His words always carried wisdom, honesty, and love. His advice came with humor, sometimes with blunt truth, but it always came from a place of deep care.

Mike’s love was steady, strong, and unconditional. He believed in taking care of his own, and he did so with loyalty, generosity, and a full heart. The greatest legacy he leaves behind is the family he loved so fiercely and the memories he created with them.

Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie of Le Sueur, MN; children, Colleen Winters of Jordan, MN, Kelly (Tim) Pharis of Eagan, MN, John (Fiancée Soonja Briest) Lynch of Gaylord, MN, and Sean Lynch of Burnsville, MN; grandchildren–Mikaela, Meaghan, Micah and Cullen Winters, Johana and Kylie Lynch, Madalyn and Liam Pharis, and Ezekiel Everson; and siblings, Kathleen (David) Anderson, Timothy (Kimberly) Lynch and Thomas (Fiancée Sarah Radanke) Lynch, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
